Allison & Randy's Wedding

We had a wonderful time photographing Allison & Randy's wedding last weekend. I though it was such a cool idea to get married on Leap Day!

Both of their families were so warm and everyone was working together to make this day perfect! There were so many beautiful accidents that happened on their wedding day, which made it even more unique! The best example is that the bride got locked out of the church while she was trying to make her entrance and walk down the isle to her groom! Everyone cheered as she finally entered the room!

It is always awesome to work with Alshabibi Catering. Ahmed never ceases to amaze us with his talents in catering and decorating! Every aspect of his work is art!

Modeling at the Biltmore

We got a call a few weeks ago, and I did a double-take; it was a request for Lindsey and I to model, not to take pictures. Delighted to be on the other side of the camera for a change, Lindsey and I accepted, and had an awesome time modeling for Corey McNabb's Rockstar Wedding Photography Workshop. The location was Asheville's incredible Biltmore Estate, which (a great coincidence) we visited a few years ago on our honeymoon! Lindsey looked absolutely stunning in her gown from Boutique Couture, and completed the look with an incredible 'birdcage' veil.

It was a dream location...however, slightly unlucky for Lindsey and the other model brides was the weather today, which topped out at about 26 degrees...so it was an amazingly beautiful, yet cold experience.
So thanks to Amber Holritz for the invite, and to Meggie, Rich, and many others for being patient while we tried the modeling thing!

We shared the modeling duties with two other brides, and a 'couple': Eric and Shyla. Thanks all, for such a great experience!
John

Bonfire

We had a fun idea last Saturday, and had some friends over to our place for a wintertime bonfire. The weather was cold enough that we all snuggled in towards the fire. Some people were so close to this oft-photographed fire that they melted the soles off their shoes!...At least there were no cases of frostbite!

Judith & Allen

On Monday, we road-tripped down to Atlanta to hang out and photograph Judith and Allen.
We met at Park Tavern near Piedmont Park and found some fantastic places to take pictures. Judith and Allen were not only fun to be around but were so natural in front of the camera. Since they love the city, we finished up our shoot by taking some portraits that featured the ATL skyline. You can see more images by clicking

Sarah & Jeremy: Take 2

John and I photographed Sarah & Jeremy's wedding back in December. It was cold and rainy on their wedding day, so we met this past Sunday to take some more casual images of the two of them in their wedding attire. We met at Jeremy's farm which is so beautiful even in the winter.

The weather was a little strange on Sunday! Although it was warmer than normal, the wind was absolutely CRAZY. It kept blowing things away; my reflectors, cowboy hats, the veil, etc.

Sarah & Jeremy are so natural together! I am so glad that we could do this photo shoot because I really feel that these images reflect who they are!

Molly is Hired!

We had a shoot a couple of weeks ago with a beautiful little girl, Riley.
She was a little timid and shy, but loved dogs. So after we tried every trick up our sleeves, we brought Molly in to help us out!

Molly saved the day!

This is my favorite image of Riley reading Molly a book! Riley is not only adorable, but so smart!

John and I are going to have to give Molly a raise!

Mexico Shoot!

We had the pleasure of going to Mexico with some great friends of ours, Brad & Nicole, and they were kind enough to model for us one day. We woke up very early one morning and headed out to the beach to take some photos. They were such amazing models and were willing to try anything. We even finished shoot with them jumping into the water! Check out some of their images by clicking on the picture.

Viva Mexico!

John and I have been out of town for the past week taking a vacation to the Mexican Riviera! It was beautiful, peaceful, and absolutely perfect. John and I came home very rested and excited to get back to work! Click on the image to see more!

prom fashion

Yesterday, Lindsey and I had the pleasure of working with Emily from Boutique Couture photographing prom fashions. Caitlin, Esther, and Saskia were kind enough to be our models. Check out the slideshow!

Terran and Matt: the photo booth

Matt and Terran were married on Saturday, January 26th (you can view their wedding images in a subsequent post) and we had a great time commemorating their day.
Before the wedding, Terran had a special request: bringing a slightly tacky, slightly small backdrop, and making a photo booth for her wedding guests to use. So while Lindsey and I were photographing the reception, we called on our former subject/turned art student Lindsey Welch (yes, there are two Lindseys now!) and she did a great job taking shots at the photo booth. Terran & Matt

We really enjoyed photographing Terran + Matt's wedding this weekend. We have really enjoyed getting to know them over the past months. They are such a fun couple to be around! This we evident throughout their wedding day. We began our day at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church , which is absolutely beautiful.

I love to shoot the detail shots! There are so many little decisions that are made throughout the planning process and John and I really want you to remember all those little things!

The guys!

The girls!

The bride just had to play a little guitar hero before walking down the isle!
It was awesome!

For the reception, we traveled to the Silver Ballroom in the Sheraton Reed House.

This couple and their families really loved to have a good time.
They were all amazing dancers!

Molly Mania!

This week John has the daunting task of going through our image archives, managing and backing everything up!
While in the process, he ran across all of these beautiful images of Molly. I must admit that I have never seen most of these! So, I have declared today Molly Mania Day!
She is the cutest dog!

Three Girls and Their Buddy!

John and I went to the most amazing concert at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga. It was 4 of our favorite artists all together! Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, & Buddy Miller. Not only was the concert amazing, but it truly inspired John and I to be more artistic and creative. The songs that these artists wrote were so powerful. In particular, Patty Griffin, wrote a song about her Grandmother named, Mary, that made me cry. My grandmother's name was Mary and she passed away a few months ago and this song could have been written just for her. You should check it out on her website. The song is the Kiss In Time album.

VOTE!

We just received an email from someone in Ohio that saw our office renovation on IKEA's website! John and I recently renovated our new studio in downtown Dayton, TN and virtually everything we used to decorate our space was from IKEA in Atlanta.

I had already forgotten that I entered our renovated space in a contest on IKEA's website over the summer, but I never heard anything back.

After receiving the email, we went online and saw that our office was on the home page for IKEA's Share Your Space!

We want everyone to go online and vote for our renovation!
