the other side of the camera

While in Boston this week, my brother J.R. took Lindsey and I out to some scenic spots in Beacon Hill. Acorn Street (a small alley that's one of the most photographed streets in the nation, as well as the Duck Pond, which inspired 'Make Way for Ducklings' were both great locations.
We got to experience being on the other side of the camera, and it was a nice change of pace to be a subject for once! Thanks, J.R. for braving the cold!

getting to Boston

We've been so excited about visiting my brother J.R. and his wife Tricia in Boston for Thanksgiving. Here are some images from our journey yesterday.
Our new wide-angle lens makes Delta's seating area seem...slightly more spacious.
Lindsey was her usual gangsta self (this diva's not a fan of the earbuds). I'm a Sudoku player, and loved this still-life on my tray.

Kissing Cousins!

We photographed some cute kids on Friday. They truly are kissing cousins. We could not pass up the opportunity to put this on the blog.

The Sneed Family

We had the privilege of photographing some of my family last week. Due to some scheduling conflicts, we almost missed the beautiful leaves. However, the timing was perfect. It makes it so special when you get to photograph your own family!

Maria + Nathan's Engagement

We had a wonderful time hanging out with Maria and Nathan.
The weather forecast was calling for showers, but we decided to chance it!
We met in the Fort Wood area and then headed out for the Walnut Street Bridge. The bridge is a very special place for them because that is where they got engaged!
Although it began to rain, we managed to get some really cute shots under their umbrella!
Maria and Nathan, thanks for being so amazing to work with!

Jennifer + Jeff

We took a beautiful drive up to Knoxville on Sunday to photograph Jennifer & Jeff's engagement session. It was so great to finally meet them both! Up to this point, we have done most of our planning via telephone and email. However, we had the privilege of meeting Jennifer's mother, Jolene, while we were in Knoxville for another wedding a few weeks ago.
We met at Volunteer Landing which is a beautiful place on the water. Our friend and fellow photographer, Bill Waldorf, recommended the spot! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Jennifer, Jeff, & Jolene! Here is a sneak peek! Enjoy.

Katie and Will's Engagement Session

Katie and Will took us to Lookout Mountain and the Fairyland Club for a very fun and informal engagement session. We can't wait to photograph their upcoming wedding this December.

Lauren + Jimmy's Engagement Session

Lauren of Boutique Couture and her fiancé Jimmy took us to Fort Wood over the weekend, where we had an incredible time taking photos. It felt more like hanging out (in great clothes and nice light) than an actual photo session. There were so many great shots we had a difficult time narrowing it down to just these for the blog!

Brooke & Ted's Engagement

We had such a great time getting to know Brooke and Ted on Monday. They drove in up from Knoxville and we were excited to take them to our property. Ted was not too excited about having his picture taken, but hopefully we made it pretty painless! Plus they look amazing! Enjoy a few of our favorite images.

Erin & Jonathan's Engagement

Due to their busy schedule's, we had to take Jonathan & Erin's engagement pictures pretty early in the morning. We don't do a lot of outdoor shoots in the early morning, but the light in our field was absolutely gorgeous. They were too cute together, basically we just sat back and took pictures while they hung out! Here are a few of our favorites!

Free Weekend!

John and I enjoyed our first free weekend by going to visit my sister, Morgan, and her husband, Nathan, in Birmingham. We had a blast.
Their dog, Kara, was an absolute doll. Here she is snuggled up on our bed.

On Saturday, we went to visit some of their friends down the street. They had a trampoline! I have not jumped on a trampoline in years, but it was so much fun. Let's just say that we all felt a little sore the next day! Here are some of my favorite images!

Nathan and John climbed into their tree-house for some male-bonding!

Thank you Morgan and Nathan for opening up your home to us. We had such a wonderful weekend.

Lilly Grace

We had an amazing family session recently. Lilly Grace made our day with her smiles, and kept us laughing as well.
I'll post some more pictures later, to include her cool yellow boots.
